My bike came with these pipes good pipes, chrome, don't rust easily, and give a good sound upto 2,5k that they're rather on the highway for an hour, made me fall asleep later on that night with my head buzzing from the after effects of the constant generally too I felt reluctant to accelerate because of the noise, and tried keeping my revs below 2,5k a while I got more comfortable with it, but if I had a choice, I'd probably have gone with less loud don't care if they're loud, I just don't want to be the one hearing the

Kanaan gets $2.35 million from Indy 500 purse - WTHR

Tony Kanaan earned $2,353,355 from an overall purse of $12,020,065 for his victory Sunday, May 26 in the 97th Indianapolis 500 Mile Race.

Brazil native Kanaan, who started 12th, set a record winning speed of 187.433 mph, breaking the previous mark of 185.981 set by Arie Luyendyk in 1990. Kanaan won "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" for the first time in 12 career starts, tying an event record for earning a victory latest in a driver's Indy 500 career. The other driver to win the race for the first time in his 12th career start was Sam Hanks in 1957.

Kanaan, who led the race 15 times for a total of 34 laps in his No. 11 Hydroxycut KV Racing Technology-SH Chevrolet, won the race when he and Carlos Munoz overtook race leader Ryan Hunter-Reay entering Turn 1 on a Lap 198 after a restart. During that restart, three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti's No. 10 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Honda made contact with the wall between Turns 1 and 2, allowing Kanaan to cruise to the checkered flag under caution.

In the first IZOD IndyCar Series race of his career, Munoz, of Colombia, qualified second and finished second in his No. 26 Unistraw Chevrolet for Andretti Autosport.

Munoz was voted the winner of theChase Rookie of the Year Award.

Reigning IZOD IndyCar Series champion Hunter-Reay earned $583,005 for driving his No. 1 DHL Chevrolet for Andretti Autosport to a third-place finish in a performance that saw him lead the race 13 times for 26 laps.

In driving his No. 25 RC Cola Chevrolet to a fourth-place finish, Andretti Autosport's Marco Andretti joined Kanaan in leading the race 15 times, the most ever by an Indianapolis 500 driver who did not win the race. Andretti, who led for 31 laps and took the IZOD IndyCar Series points lead, was awarded $469,755.

Justin Wilson drove his No. 19 Dale Coyne Racing Honda to an Indianapolis 500 career-best fifth place after starting 14th. Wilson earned $337,805.

Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves earned $313,755 by driving his No. 3 Shell V-Power/Pennzoil Ultra Team Penske Chevrolet to a sixth-place finish. Castroneves led one lap in the race and has led in eight of his 12 career Indianapolis 500 starts for a total of 232 laps.

Pole sitter Ed Carpenter, who led the race six times for a race-high 37 laps in his No. 20 Fuzzy's Vodka Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet, finished the 10th Indianapolis 500 of his career in 10th position. He received $405,955, which included $100,000 for earning the Verizon P1 Award as pole winner.

The Indianapolis 500 Mile Race purse consists of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and IZOD IndyCar Series awards, plus other designated and special awards. Purse awards were announced and presented at the Victory Awards Celebration presented by Ice Miller LLP on Monday, May 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

    The 98th Indianapolis 500 is scheduled forMay 25, 2014.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Detroit Red Wings: 5 Matchups to Watch in Game 6 - Bleacher Report

The Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings square off Monday night in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series. Detroit can close out the 'Hawks with a win. Chicago is looking to force a Game 7 back in its building.

After nine games in the regular and postseason, each team knows what it takes to beat the other. We won't see many surprises. This game looks to go down like the others in this series. It may come down to which team is able to come out on top of these key matchups.

    1. Jonathan Toews vs. Henrik Zetterberg

Zetterberg has been a thorn in the side of the Blackhawks' captain the entire series. Coach Joel Quenneville freed up Toews for most of Game 5 and Toews responded with his first goal of the playoffs.

Detroit will have the benefit of last line change Monday, so expect to see Zetterberg plastered to Toews as he was in the last two games at Joe Louis Arena. If Zetterberg can blanket his counterpart as he has earlier in the series, it will be tough for Chicago to win.

If the Red Wings captain forces a meltdown from Toews resembling his Game 4 performance, it spells real trouble for the Blackhawks. Toews needs to stay focused and win this battle.

    2. Chicago's Forecheck vs. the Red Wings' D

The Blackhawks have been able to force a lot of turnovers out of Detroit's blueline corps, so perhaps the x-factor in this matchup is how effectively Chicago capitalizes on the giveaways they create in the Red Wings zone.

Niklas Kronwall is possibly still smarting from the hit laid on him by Bryan Bickell in the third period of Game 5. I'd expect Kronwall to play, but the Red Wings defense would be weakened if he isn't able to go.

Chicago will likely attempt to replicate the pressure they have put on the Detroit defense. If the Red Wings can stand the heat, it will be a big factor in Game 6.

    3. Special Teams

A big factor in Chicago's 4-1 win in Game 5 was the fact that the dormant power play notched two goals in the second period.

The Blackhawks have power play goals in each of their wins in the series. They have no goals with the man advantage in Detroit's three wins.

These are two fairly disciplined teams, but the nature of this series has led to some roughing calls on both sides. The winner of the special teams battle may just be the difference.

    4. Corey Crawford vs. Jimmy Howard

The two goalies have both played excellent hockey in this series. Howard has a slight edge in that he has faced more shots and has the series only shutout in Game 4.

Crawford's numbers in this series: 2.02 goals against, .924 save percentage.

Howard's numbers in this series: 1.80 goals against, .945 save percentage.

The key for the Blackhawks is to bombard Howard with attempts. Chicago has over 40 shots in both of it's two wins.

Crawford, as the last line of defense on the PK unit, has stopped 28 of 29 shots while his team was shorthanded. Howard is 19 for 22 in this area.

The play in net is going to be huge again Monday night.

    5. Joel Quenneville vs. Mike Babcock

There is little doubt that Babcock has out-coached Quenneville so far in this series. Babcock has been able to neutralize Chicago's top players and forced the 'Hawks coach into shuffling his lineup.

Quenneville made the right moves in Game 5, changing his defensive pairings and keeping Zetterberg off of Toews for most of the game. Will he fare as well with Babcock having last change?

The moves the opposing coaches make will definitely have an impact on the final score of Game 6 Monday night.

David Haugh: Elimination-game victory gives Blackhawks hope — if only until ... - Boston Herald

CHICAGO ' Lou Piniella was probably sipping a cocktail somewhere Saturday night after watching baseball.

Mike Keenan was likely already preparing for his new job as coach of the KHL's Metallurg Magnitogorsk in Russia.

Robin Ventura was keeping an even keel a few miles away at U.S. Cellular Field as the White Sox played the Marlins.

Lovie Smith was in a place where the glasses are always half-full.

But, in spirit only, all four men were at the United Center as Joel Quenneville barked behind the glass, desperately trying to avoid joining them in Chicago sports infamy and leaving part of a legacy no coach wants.

Quenneville can wait at least another day to ponder such an ignominious fate. His Blackhawks staved off elimination with a fast, physical effort in a 4-1 victory in Game 5 that included a functional power play and the first playoff goal for Jonathan Toews.

'It builds confidence, I don't care who you are,' Toews said. 'When you see it go in, you feel like you can do it again.'

Chicago's sigh after Toews' power-play goal probably registered as a blast of lakefront wind. The relief on Toews' face, on all of the faces of the happy Hawks, reflected how high the anxiety had mounted for a team with expectations as great as ours.

To a man, the Hawks agreed during their record streak to start the lockout-shortened season that it was Stanley Cup Final-or-bust. Anything short would be considered failure. Nothing has changed ' the Hawks took command of the game but, moving back to Detroit for Game 6, the Red Wings still control the series.

'We got the momentum back on our side,' Quenneville said. 'Let's go in and keep it.'

Winning diminished the pressure on the Blackhawks but hardly removed it. They took the ice knowing only 20 of 229 teams in the NHL playoffs have come back from a 3-1 series deficit to advance. That means a 91.3 percent chance still exists that the Hawks will become the latest team to tease our city's tortured sports fans.

That doesn't mean the Blackhawks will, not after a complete performance that re-established them as a deeper, more talented team. That only means the ache locally will feel familiar if they eventually do follow the path scattered with so many broken hearts.

The Cubs of 2003 and 1969 deserve their own category for calamity. Nothing the Blackhawks fail to accomplish can make that kind of historical dent or match the civic angst. But in 2008, Piniella's Cubs more comparably won a National League-best 97 games, only to have the Dodgers sweep them in the playoffs. In 1991, Keenan's Blackhawks entered the playoffs as the Presidents' Trophy winners, like this Hawks team, and exited quickly when the North Stars eliminated them in six games.

More recently, but no less painful, Ventura's White Sox blew a three-game lead in the American League Central with 15 to play last September. That collapse came a month before Smith's Bears jumped out to a 7-1 start only to miss the playoffs and have the coaching staff fired.

It all makes the Hawks transforming from the best team in hockey into one 60 minutes from elimination so very Chicago. When Jim Cornelison delivered another typically rousing pregame rendition of the national anthem, none of the 22,014 fans knew whether that was the last time they would hear him until the fall.

The Hawks came determined to convert their nervous energy into execution. They started at a furious pace, especially head-hunters Andrew Shaw and Bryan Bickell. When defenseman Brent Seabrook, skating like a man perturbed by reduced playing time, leveled Damien Brunner, it announced loudly the Hawks arrived in the mood to mix it up.

'We played like it was our last game,' Seabrook said.

Quenneville responded to the urgency by reconstituting The Desperation Line: Patrick Kane, Toews and Patrick Sharp. He also reunited defensemen Duncan Keith and Seabrook in a pairing that once functioned so well. For a while, the only relevant year of comparison for the Hawks was 2010.

Even the struggling power play worked ' and changed the game. It was 1-1 at the 13:08 mark of the second period when Andrew Shaw tipped Duncan Keith's shot past Wings goalie Jimmy Howard to regain the lead and a swagger.

'Bicksy (Bickell) always says it's luck, but I have pretty good hand-eye coordination,' said Shaw, who scored twice.

Good things happen when the Hawks camp out in front of the goalie, establish position and obstruct Howard's view. It's called net presence and the ploy put the Hawks squarely back in this series.

Less than three minutes after Shaw's goal, Toews broke through. Anything seemed possible again.

Suddenly, anything is, even for a team from Chicago.

Permatex 81950-12PK Ultra Slick Engine Assembly Lube, 4 oz. (Pack of 12) User Reviews

Permatex 81950-12PK Ultra Slick Engine Assembly Lube, 4 oz. (Pack of 12) User Reviews
I used this for a 22 HP Intek Briggs rebuild. Put it on all the new parts, valve stems, rockers, piston rings, cam and bearings.I wont ever know if it truly needed this vs motor oil, but the engine started right up after the rebuild and I feel safer having protected the parts with this.
    - Daniel S. Coyle "blarneystone"

I have rebuilt many many engines ranging from 283cid to 468cid. Stock rebuilds and high horsepower builds and this is the only assembly lube I will use. I have used it for over 20 years and have never had a bearing problem yet. Very good stuff
    - Bud Engler

This came as described and shipped quickly. Good viscosity and easy to use it appears this will work well for assembly lube for my motor.
    - pk

Good stuff. Has a lot of tacafier in it. Stays where you put it and does not drip off. yes
    - timothy w joza

I have built my fair share of engines, and I've used a few different products. The first engine I ever built as a kid was assembled with the free grease that came with the engine "kit". A couple spun bearings later and a lot of regret, I started using Permatex products. I have never bought a bad product from them, nor been disappointed. Since using this lube I've never had a problem, dozens of engines later.
    - Harley99

This is the way to go if you are assembling your engine and want to ensure the parts have lube at start up. It is sticky enough to cling to the parts and a little goes a long way. I bought two bottles because of the size of my tear down on my Harley one bottle would have been more then enough.
    - SeaDog

I know this is meant for engine assembly but many people use this in their ratchets and it works! It made my ratchets much smoother during ratcheting, especially the Craftsman stuff. The only bad thing is that it does tend to leak out (even in sealed ratchets like the Snap-on Dual 80 series). The trick is to not use too much of this stuff. Put a thin coat for protection and it will serve you well. Those who are pouring this stuff on are using it incorrectly.
    - Tony N.

I used this stuff for my 2002 Tahoe 5.3 liter rebuild and it worked great. It's thick and super sticky. I was a little leery at first with the rating, but after reading that the 2 poor comments were from people who weren't using it for it's intended purpose(I have no idea why some one would rate it bad for an alternate use) I thought I'd give it a shot. Glad I did! I will definitely use it again.
    - J. Graves

I use it to lubricate my ratchets and other random moving parts. It's very slick and you only need a tiny bit for a rather large area. In heat the viscosity drops and it tends to creep out of any cracks. However it does not lose its slick properties. I honestly think one bottle will last me the rest of my life (at least until I lose it).
    - jirobinson13

I just finished putting together a cylinder head for a honda civic (D15b7) The machine shop did not replaced the o rings for the valve train, so I had to put everything together and lubed the camshaft, I gave it a spin, and boyyy it rotates really smooth with this lube.!!! I lubed all moving parts, great product, I give it a 5 star.!!!

Tim Duncan shines brightly as San Antonio comes from way back to take a 3-0 ... - Yahoo! Sports (blog)

Tim Duncan's teammates in 1997 included Brad Lohaus and Willie Burton (Getty Images)

The San Antonio Spurs are a different team, in 2013. For some reason it's taken until Saturday night's comeback 103-94 overtime win over the Memphis Grizzlies, and a commanding 3-0 lead in the Western Conference finals, to drive home the point that tells us that this team isn't just another admirable contender amongst many.

Of course, we've heard that this is a 'different team' before. In each of the years since the team's 2007 NBA championship the NBA has marveled at the team's resiliency and ability to bring in new helpers to keep the team within the league's short list for championship hopefuls. Due to a series of imposing factors, though, this year's model seems primed to contend for a championship in ways that the previous five outfits could not.

And a 3-0 lead in a seven game series doesn't hurt, when it comes to admiring from afar.

San Antonio nearly handed Game 3 away on Saturday, tossing out eight first quarter turnovers on its way to an 18-point deficit that, frankly, never felt insurmountable. The Grizzlies did well to rack up the points and take advantage of Tony Parker's (four early turnovers) early miscues, but a quick and efficient start to the second period had the Spurs locked into a three-possession game before the Grizzlies knew what hit them.

Memphis responded well, attempting to squeeze what it could out of an offense that just isn't the same without a Zach Randolph's ability to take over (Zach had 14 points on 14 shots in the game, a poor performance that was still his best of the series), and countering San Antonio's comeback by playing the Spurs about even throughout the second half. Tony Allen grabbed some key defensive rebounds, Quincy Pondexter scored 15 points in 27 minutes before fouling out, and Marc Gasol (16 points on 18 shots) and Mike Conley (20 points on 21 shots) did what they could amongst the trees.

By the time both teams clanged a few potential game-winners in regulation, though, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich had seen enough to know where to go. The Spurs' overtime offensive execution was flawless, the Spurs outscored Memphis by nine in just five minutes (no small feat, considering Memphis' conference best defense and slow pacing offensively), and San Antonio now has a 3-0 chokehold in a league that has never seen a playoff team return from down three games with four to play.

San Antonio's spacing is too good for Memphis to contend with, and this is why the Spurs pulled away. Unlike in 2011, when San Antonio was taken down by the Grizzlies in the first round, the Spurs' litany of cutters, passers and adept finishers just has its way against a Grizzlies defense that looked plodding when the ball was moving. Parker (26 points, five assists) recovered nicely from his early hiccups to adjust and improvise away and on the ball, while Tim Duncan added to the legend once again.

Duncan played over 44 minutes in the overtime win, scoring 26 points on 19 shots while adding ten rebounds, five assists, three turnovers, and two blocks. His presence drew both Gasol and Randolph away from the basket, and frustrated them on the inside as San Antonio used him as a screener nonpareil and target to work off of (either as a scorer, passer, screen setter, or hockey assist-creator) when the initial options didn't work out.

A fabulous night from Manu Ginobili (19 points on nine shots, five assists off the bench) and impressive run from Tiago Splitter (5-5 shooting, 11 points) were both the by-product and partial influence for Duncan's admirable inside-out attack.

Duncan's work left your eyes rolling, the appropriate response when paired with the requisite shake of the head. It's not so much that it boggles that Tim Duncan is doing this at age 37; it boggles that any man of his size can work this way full stop. Ninety-eight percent of NBA big men would kill to have a game like this against an opponent like that in a setting like Saturday night's, and yet Tim is somehow pulling this off some 16 years after being drafted out of Wake Forest as a college senior.

This is why the Spurs are different. They've mixed in all the impressive hallmarks of that five year run between 2007 and now (brilliantly-scouted helpers in the rotation, ever-evolving play calling, clarity of role and function, out and out talent) into its most potent package yet.

Those other Spurs teams, in the wake of that 2007 championship, were to be admired. This team is to be feared. And it's a win away from the NBA Finals.

    CorrosionX Lubricant/Penetrant, 16 oz. aerosol (90102)

    CorrosionX Lubricant/Penetrant, 16 oz. aerosol (90102)

CorrosionX(R) is the most useful and versatile product of its kind. Use CorrosionX(R) to eliminate corrosion and protect all metal surfaces of your boat, trailer and dockside equipment. Especially recommended for brightwork (keeps stainless from pimpling), hatches, powerheads, antenna bases, hinges and latches. CorrosionX(R) is also the best lubricant you can use for maritime applications. It does not attract dust, outperforms lubricants fortified with Teflon* (PTFE), and due to it's unique polar bonding technology, CorrosionX(R) repels water, and doesn't dissipate quickly or wash off in harsh saltwater environments. Use CorrosionX(R) on throttle cables, steering mechanisms, seat swivels, locks, travelers, winches, pulleys, furling systems, tracks and on any other gear that would benefit from lubrication. Due to its extraordinary dielectric properties, CorrosionX(R) should be applied to all battery terminals, terminal strips, ignition switches, electrical connectors, circuit breakers, fuse holders, light switches, light sockets, electrical plugs, blower motors and fans to protect them from corrosion, extend their life and keep them working reliably. STOPS AND PREVENTS CORROSION AND RUSTUse CorrosionX(R) where you want corrosion control without a messy wax coating. A light spray of CorrosionX(R) on power heads, generator sets and engines two or three times a year will keep them looking like new -- even in saltwater conditions.A MULTI-FUNCTIONAL PRODUCTIn addition to its corrosion fighting properties, CorrosionX(R) is also a super lubricant and penetrant. It lubricates under heavy loads and high temperatures. Use it on sheaves, hinges, locks, cables/wire ropes, windlasses or other rotating devices. It is ideal for fishing reels and guns. And, CorrosionX(R) penetrates like nothing you've ever used. Corroded or rusted nuts, bolts or fittings can usually be removed in just a few minutes.NOT HARMFUL TO THE ENVIRONMENT

They quieted not effective my 103" The boards III including 10:1 compression a modest cut, which got actually loud compared to the first 96". I'm by them on Sideshots, not Shortshots. I noticed a tiny potential failure as installing these in the top aim keep pro if you drill a fissure not effective the midpoint in this vicinity the mass of a doodle, including the intention of potential frequently comes in trade (seat of pants dyno) and the dirt bike stays only as calm down. Drill/adjust at your confess expose! These baffles frequently cut-rate the idle arrange/rub signal and barely audible the by and large signal as if you deposit your hand in adjoin, keep pro not on, your lips as discussion (be fond of as you be inflicted including provisions in your backtalk). I was in tension pro quieter keep pro I'm not guaranteed you'll do greatly better including the QQ baffles including the intention of are far away extra high-priced. And, no problem, they are a nightmare to bed in. If you exchange the colorless filling clarification including metal engage wrap cloth (no matter what including the intention of is technically called) the baffles are easier to bed in and are a cut quieter (so I pocket reflect it over of). You can get on to it at the hardware pile (it's bleak, not colorless).

These Quiet Baffles arre the perfect middle ground for your Vance & Hines exhaust. They will ensure that the neighbors 2 blocks away don't tremble when you go to work in the morning, but you can definately hear your engine over some hot Mustang nest to you. Can't really tell about power, because louder usually sounds more powerful, and I put the on a pretty qick bike anyway. I can tell that between the exhaust themselves, and the baffles, I do get noticeably better gas milage. Overall, I'm glad I got them.
    - DJ'sDad

I ordered one of these, thinking it would be a set of two, since the picture shows two and every other picture shows two pipes. My mistake. Once I got the second one, and installed them. Which by the way they are a pain in the neck to install. And if your pipes are already installed, even worse. You have to take your pipes back off, take the heats shields off, then pull the stock baffles out, and push these in. Its really not that fun of a job, but realistically didn't take me that long to do. Three hours later, took the pipes off, had the quiet baffles in and put the pipes back on. Once in, they do exactly what I needed them to do. Tone down the rasp on the idle end of the RPM range. My neighbors weren't to fond of the crazy loud idle. Anyway... My two cents.
    - C. Trimble "Pencil Pusher"

I got the Baffels pretty quick and installed them and they are calm down. The sound is deeper then the orig ones keep for here is a modest chime at the aim. I will keep useing them as I aspire to go calm down keep for I also be fond of the ones including the intention of came including the Fleeting shots.

Anyone who tells you that there is not much of a noticeable sound difference between these baffles and stock is a moron. Especially the know-it-alls who seem to think that a less restrictive short pipe on an 883 increases hp/torque. Of course anyone who has 'upgraded' from stock to the short shots (not side shots) has compromised their hp and torque respectively (ie: no power chamber on short shots staggered), these baffles help create back pressure which helps regain some of that lost torque (which I have definitely noticed). With the stock baffles, my ears were ringing on 30min+ rides at hwy speeds with 30spf ear plugs and a bell custom 500 helmet. I'll be honest, lows don't hit has hard in the chest as they did before (at idle), but I'm sure that will change after I put on some miles. WOT still sounds as mean as ever, just not with as much of the high pitch crackling as before. Wouldn't recommend these baffles to anyone who uses the bike as a bar hopper or for short jaunts around town. I miss setting off car alarms from 50 yards away, lol. However, being able to hear my sons first words a few months from now will totally make up for that. Agree with previous poster who stated that these should have been included initially. Big improvement.
    - Nate

Baffles make such a little dif in the sound they are a waste of money. See my review on short shots.

Click one of these links to see MANY MANY people who talk about how shitty vance and hines treats you when you call for help with thier crap product. welds to the heat shields break on ALL MODELS. DO NOT BUY VANCE AND HINES, if it was cheaper, it would be worth it, but its WAY WAY overpriced for something that will break in a year or so, and not be replaced by them! see the email they sent me belwo as well.dear customer,I just heard back from warranty and unfortunately we are not going to be able to replace the shield under warranty. The purchase date is just too far outside of the warranty period (15 months). I did run this by my boss Eddie and he ok'ed for me to offer the shield for a discounted price of $115.00 + freight as opposed to the $152.03. If you would like to get the shield for the $115 just let me know. All of our exhaust systems are warranted against defects in material and/or workmanship for a period of 90 days. This does not cover finishes such as plating, or painted surfaces with discoloration or rust. This warranty shall be limited to the repair or replacement of the system, which may be proven defective under normal use. We will not warranty any system that has been abused, misused, improperly installed, or modified.--Thank you,Steve Darrow |Hi,I bought your Short Shot exhaust system about a year and a half ago (you can find the receipt below). I was on the freeway the other day and heard a noise, looked back to see my front cylinder heat shield from my short shot exhaust system had fallen off. When I pulled over, to my surprise, all the hose clamps were still clamped down good, and all the brackets had broken off at the weld! I have pictures. To me it looked like the welds were bad, or not the correct type of weld for this type of application (high vibration). I called and spoke with Mr. Steve Darrow, and he told me that he cannot replace my heat shield since it was already past the standard 12 month warranty. Despite not being under warranty, I think you guys should replace the heat sheild because it was obviously defective, due to the bad welds. It was suggested to me by Steve, that the reason the heat shield fell off, was due to over tightening the hose clamps. I spoke with a couple other mechanics and engineers whom I work with, and we all came to the conclusion that even if the hose clamp was too tight, it shouldn't have transferred the tension to the welds, and any tension to the welds should withstand normal vibration of a Harley motorcycle. Then he mentioned something about heat having to something to do with them breaking too, so I was really confused by his suggestions and how they were my fault?I installed the pipes myself and I did so correctly. I tightened the hose clamps with a screw driver and a torque wrench to ensure a proper fit. I feel like i should not have been blamed for this in the first place, and I also feel like your customer service should have a better understanding of how your products work, and why they would break. I certainly do not think that blaming the customer is the correct course of action, even if you cannot do anything to rectify the situation. I would think with your reputation on the line, a single heat shield might be worth saving that. Regardless i will pass along my story to all my bike friends. currently I have a pile of scrap metal that is useless. the pipes look like hell with out the heat shields, and the heat shields were made so poorly they didn't even last 2 thousand miles. It really is pretty pathetic.[...]
    - whoresman22

I was a little hesitant to buy these baffles because so many of the reviews said they don't lower the noise that much and they were difficult to install. That may be the case with other pipes, but I have the V&H Sideshots. Installation was as simple as removing the heat shields, loosening the set screw and removing the original baffles, then reverse for installation. Took about 45 minutes at most. The "quiet" baffles don't quiet it down to stock quiet, but do reduce the sound from a higher pingy metallic exhaust note to a much lower one. I still wear earplugs most of the time, but its a much more pleasant sound.
    - davebphoto

I bought these baffles for my Short Shots that are on my HD Iron 883.The seller processed and shipped my baffles quick. The baffles came very well packaged and went into my exhaust with ease.My only complaint is the picture that these are shown. When you order, you need to order two, because even though the picture shows two together, the price is only for one. I'm happy with the price, and happy with the baffles. I just think the picture should be changed.Anyways, my exhaust sounds great, it did before too but it was a little louder than I am used to, and I was very happy.I will definitely try and go through this seller again if and when I need more parts. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this seller.

Symtec Heat Demon Grip Warmers Chrome 210063MC Review

Symtec Heat Demon Grip Warmers Chrome 210063MC Review
I waited a few weeks to review this product so I could give it a good test first. The chrome switch housing seems to be good quality and it looks good in place of the stock piece. The good aspects are that the grips heat up quickly to about 155 degrees on handlebar. This translates to about 85 degrees on the outside of the grip itself in 30 degree weather. The longer I kept my gloved hand on the grip, the hotter the grip became. The grip peaked at about 115 degrees. This became about 90 degrees on my hands through my very thick winter gloves. More than enough heat. The bad aspects of this product is the way the diode is connected. There is a diode that feeds both grips. The diode is connected to the wires with a very flimsy crimp connection. As soon as you apply any pressure or pull on the cables, the crimp comes rite off the diode. It is also held onto 1 heater with some cheasy silicone. I soldered both wires crimps onto the diode and then encased it in heat shrink tubing. Also, be careful if you have run your wires through the handlebars, like I did. If you put the stock wires through your bars, the new wires will get really cramped inside the bars. I cut the heat demons wires as short as possible and carefully pushed them in to the bars. They just barely fit.

Royal Purple 01513 Synfilm Recip 100 High Performance Synthetic Air Compressor Lubricant - 1 Quart User Reviews
Compressor was due for an oil chat and I tried majestic Purple including conception reviews.Works extremely water supply and comperssor have control ended temperature is at smallest amount 20 degrees cooler.
    - Dzuppi

I have used royal purple products since about the mid 90's I love the results on everything I have used. I used this in my 60 gallon overworked 15 year old Campbell Hausfeld compressor that I have used daily in my shop. I change the oil in it once a year never had an issue. I tried another brand to see if I noticed a difference and I did it runs at 199-205 degrees on royal purple oil, on the other brand Mobil I think it was at 220-225 degrees I am sold.
    - Thomas P.

what can i say, it arrived in liquid form and was compressor oil. ask me in ten years. based on its reputation I expect lower rate of carbon build up in compressor valving. I wish I had tested my compressor head temp with old oil and then with this like some others have done to really see some anticipated benefit of lowered operating temp.
    - Paul P.

Original manufacturers oil turns black quickly and smelled terrble. After many hours of use the Royal Perp is still transparent and there's little or no smell of burnt oil. Two thumbs up!

I was having problems with the compressor not starting in temperatures below 35. I was told that conventional oils thicken to the point where the motor is not strong enough to get it turning. I have a 5 horse 60 gallon napa professional compressor. Ran it with the old oil until it was good an hot so the oil would drain more easily. Filled to proper level with the Royal purple, and have not had a starting issue since. I went out one evening it got down to 20 degrees just to see if it would start. No problems!
    - parris_i

I have used both Royal Purple and Dewalt Full Synth oil and cannottell any difference in performance, and I have actually rebuilt a fewcompressors; not just run them till they puke oil then sell them off.If you do a ring job on your compressor, I would recommend using compressor30 weight non detergent for at least the first two hour ring seat period.I leave the 30Wt in until the first change out. When pricing, you need to pay attention to any shipping charges, as whenI first wrote a review on this product, it was being sold by a second partywho added an $11.00 shipping charge where Dewalt (Via Amazon) did not. With this in mind, there is no difference in cost or performance betweenthe two products. (At this point in time)
    - R. W. Milyard "GearJunky"

Excellent quality for your air compressor. The fully synthetic formula adds extra protection. It is worth the extra few bucks.

'Epic,' Directed by Chris Wedge - New York Times

    Blue Sky Studios/20th Century Fox

Bomba, a scientist, and his daughter, M.K., become embroiled in the affairs of the Leafmen in "Epic."

As you watch its characters zoom through a lush forest on the backs of hummingbirds, the gorgeous 3-D adventure comedy 'Epic' suggests a warmer, fuzzier 'Avatar,' with a green heart. Directed by Chris Wedge, the movie is a hymn to nature rendered in phantasmagoric detail as refined as anything I've seen in a computer-animated family film. But as beautiful as it is, 'Epic' is fatally lacking in visceral momentum and dramatic edge.

The broad concept ' the existence of a teeming, nearly invisible kingdom that is as vital and energized as the world discernible to the naked eye ' was inspired by William Joyce's children's book 'The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs.' Besides 'Avatar,' 'Epic' borrows from 'The Wizard of Oz' and 'Alice in Wonderland,' but the references aren't so blatant that they feel like theft. Although it depicts a war between good and evil, 'Epic' has no real savagery. The bad guys may be ugly, but they are not sadistic monsters, and the battles produce no visible carnage. The forest, despite its dangers, is welcoming.

'Epic' (from the creators of the 'Ice Age' movies and 'Rio') is much better at visualizing the woods and its residents than at constructing a resonant pop allegory. The best it can come up with is the motto 'Many leaves, one tree,' about all things being connected. You can read whatever else you like into a soothing fable for flower children that gently preaches that nature is good and its destruction bad. There is no suggestion of political axes being sharpened.

Living on the edge of the forest in a shack cluttered with gadgets is the eccentric scientist Bomba (Jason Sudeikis), who has devoted his life to trying to prove the existence of this nearly invisible kingdom. The story begins when his spirited 17-year-old daughter, M. K. (Amanda Seyfried), strays into the forest to retrieve his three-legged pug, Ozzy, who has wandered off.

There she meets Ronin (Colin Farrell, speaking in a mild Irish brogue), the leader of the Leafmen, a corps of green-uniformed eco-warriors committed to saving the forest from the evil Boggans. For reasons that are never specified, the not-so-fearsome leader of the Boggans, Mandrake (Christoph Waltz), is determined to destroy the forest and turn it into a putrid wasteland. The movie is too timid to ascribe his motives to development or oil exploration. He is a simply a champion of 'creeping rot.' Flying rodents are the preferred mode of transportation for his swarming army.

The Leafmen's benign ruler, Queen Tara (Beyoncé Knowles), is a curvaceous, soft-voiced Glinda the Good whose 100-year reign will end when a flower pod bursts under a full moon to reveal the new queen. The Boggans are hellbent on capturing the pod and making sure that it opens in darkness, in which case they will have control of the territory. There is a 'Wizard of Oz' figure in Nim Galuu (Steven Tyler), a blubbering, absent-minded yellow caterpillar whose scrolls record the forest's history.

Caught up in the struggle, M. K. shrinks to two inches in height when she enters the forest and befriends the Leafmen, who teach her to ride hummingbirds and execute acrobatic leaps worthy of Cirque du Soleil. Like Dorothy in 'The Wizard of Oz,' she longs to find her way home but is distracted by the attentions of Ronin's cocky, rebellious protégé, Nod (Josh Hutcherson).

Gentle comic relief is provided by Tara's shape-shifting sidekicks, Mub (Aziz Ansari) and Grub (Chris O'Dowd), a slug and a snail with extended eyeballs who care for the pod. For what it's worth, 'Epic' is on the side of the angels.

'Epic' is rated PG (Parental guidance suggested) for mild action, some scary images and brief rude language.

    Epic

    Opens on Friday nationwide.

Directed by Chris Wedge; written by James V. Hart, William Joyce, Dan Shere, Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember, based on a story by Mr. Wedge, Mr. Hart and Mr. Joyce, inspired by Mr. Joyce's book 'The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs'; music by Danny Elfman; production design by Mr. Joyce; produced by Lori Forte and Jerry Davis; released by 20th Century Fox. Running time: 1 hour 42 minutes.

WITH THE VOICES OF: Colin Farrell (Ronin), Josh Hutcherson (Nod), Amanda Seyfried (M. K.), Christoph Waltz (Mandrake), Beyoncé Knowles (Queen Tara), Aziz Ansari (Mub), Chris O'Dowd (Grub), Pitbull (Bufo), Jason Sudeikis (Bomba) and Steven Tyler (Nim Galuu).

Cycle Shack 1 3/4" Drag Pipes Exhaust System Straight Cut Chrome Chrome PHD-108S Review
chrome plating is good. the bracket is OK, but it needs some grinding (where the pipe attaches to the bracket arm) and re-shaping/bending to get the pipes straight from both a side view and a rear view. expect a leaky gap where the flange meets the cylinder exhaust port... but this can be mitigated using gasket pieces, steel wool, or some other heat-resistant filler material. after well over an hour trying, the pipes would NOT fit & properly align on my stock '75 FXE. however, they fit my stock '80 FXEF quite well. go figure.there are not many choices out there for Shovelhead drag pipes these days... especially with "straight-cut" ends. these, for the money, are about as good as it gets. be prepared to spend some time making them fit your scoot.

Rescue turns to recovery as search of Oklahoma tornado debris nears end - NBCNews.com

    Adrees Latif / Reuters

Taylor Tennyson sits in the front yard as family members salvage the remains of their home, devastated by the Moore tornado.

By Erin McClam and Alastair Jamieson, NBC News

The tornado that roared through the Oklahoma City suburbs earlier this week damaged or destroyed as many as 13,000 homes and did as much as $2 billion in damage, authorities said Wednesday.

The figures underscored the colossal task facing emergency crews as they shifted their focus, two days after the storm, from looking for trapped victims to tackling the mountain of wreckage and helping displaced families.

Authorities said six people, all adults, remained unaccounted for, but they said those people may simply have walked away from the storm and were not necessarily buried in the rubble.

'We're transitioning into recovery,' said Albert Ashwood, the state emergency management director. 'I'd be the last one to say that it's totally over.'

The tornado killed 24 people and injured more than 200.

Joshua Lott / AFP - Getty Images

A monster tornado hit Moore, Okla., Monday afternoon, leaving at least 24 dead as the threat of further storms continues.

The $2 billion damage figure was given by Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett and matched a preliminary estimate given by Oklahoma insurance officials to The Associated Press.

That would make the tornado, which ravaged the city of Moore and parts of Oklahoma City, one of the most expensive in American history. The tornado that all but wiped Joplin, Mo., off the map two years ago did $2.8 billion in damage.

Authorities in Oklahoma announced that they had identified all but one of the bodies, and they said that the youngest victims were infants, 4 and 7 months old. They said 10 of the 24 dead were children, up from an earlier figure of nine.

Heartbreaking portraits of the dead began to emerge. Among them were a third-grader remembered for her ever-present smile and a 65-year-old man separated from his wife when the tornado struck.

Federal relief workers set out trying to reach families displaced by the storm but said they faced challenges: Cellphones were not working in some places, and other people were focused on salvaging their belongings before they registered for help.

A White House official said Wednesday afternoon that 1,500 people had registered for federal help through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Administrator Craig Fugate said teams were going through neighborhoods looking for more.

'Right now it's about getting people a place to stay who have lost their homes,' he said on 'Morning Joe.' 'We want to make sure they are getting the help they need.'

A tour given to NBC's TODAY of Plaza Towers Elementary School, where seven children were killed, revealed forgotten everyday fixtures of grade school ' a basketball covered by splinters of wood, a tattered map of the United States, a textbook about the volcano destruction at the ancient Italian city of Pompeii.

As cleanup crews faced acre after acre of wrecked homes, the federal government announced it would pick up 85 percent of the tab for debris removal for the first month, and 80 percent for the two months after that. President Barack Obama announced plans to visit Oklahoma on Sunday.

Authorities faced questions at a press conference about why more people did not have 'safe rooms' in their homes to protect them from tornadoes. Officials in Moore had complained about red tape in trying to secure federal grants to build the rooms.

Gov. Mary Fallin said the state would open a donation fund to help pay for 'safe rooms' for people who want them in their homes. But authorities brushed off questions about whether the state could have been better prepared.

'It's the anomaly of severe weather,' Ashwood said, referring to the strength of the tornado, which was classified Tuesday as a Category EF5, meaning it had packed winds higher than 200 mph.

'This is the anomaly that flattens everything to the ground,' he said. 'I think everything was done that could be done at the time.'

Meanwhile, the people of Moore planned to keep combing through the ruins and salvaging what they could.

On Tuesday, David Kirsch clutched a recovered American flag and said: 'This represents the hope that we can be better off. Because where else in the world could you walk away from this and get back up on your feet?'

    Reuters contributed to this report.
