I have used royal purple products since about the mid 90's I love the results on everything I have used. I used this in my 60 gallon overworked 15 year old Campbell Hausfeld compressor that I have used daily in my shop. I change the oil in it once a year never had an issue. I tried another brand to see if I noticed a difference and I did it runs at 199-205 degrees on royal purple oil, on the other brand Mobil I think it was at 220-225 degrees I am sold.

what can i say, it arrived in liquid form and was compressor oil. ask me in ten years. based on its reputation I expect lower rate of carbon build up in compressor valving. I wish I had tested my compressor head temp with old oil and then with this like some others have done to really see some anticipated benefit of lowered operating temp.

Original manufacturers oil turns black quickly and smelled terrble. After many hours of use the Royal Perp is still transparent and there's little or no smell of burnt oil. Two thumbs up!

I was having problems with the compressor not starting in temperatures below 35. I was told that conventional oils thicken to the point where the motor is not strong enough to get it turning. I have a 5 horse 60 gallon napa professional compressor. Ran it with the old oil until it was good an hot so the oil would drain more easily. Filled to proper level with the Royal purple, and have not had a starting issue since. I went out one evening it got down to 20 degrees just to see if it would start. No problems!

I have used both Royal Purple and Dewalt Full Synth oil and cannottell any difference in performance, and I have actually rebuilt a fewcompressors; not just run them till they puke oil then sell them off.If you do a ring job on your compressor, I would recommend using compressor30 weight non detergent for at least the first two hour ring seat period.I leave the 30Wt in until the first change out. When pricing, you need to pay attention to any shipping charges, as whenI first wrote a review on this product, it was being sold by a second partywho added an $11.00 shipping charge where Dewalt (Via Amazon) did not. With this in mind, there is no difference in cost or performance betweenthe two products. (At this point in time)

Excellent quality for your air compressor. The fully synthetic formula adds extra protection. It is worth the extra few bucks.
